Born in Douglas, Isle of Man on 15th December 1918, the son of Albert and Beatrice Maud CRAIG (née JACKSON). His father died in 1919 and his mother re married to William WADE

He married Kitty MATTHEWS in Newmarket in Q3-1940. She later lived in Finsbury Park, Middlesex

None have been identified in the 1939 register.


On 23rd August 1941 Vickers Wellington Mk2, W5477 was on it's approach to land at Driffield airfield but lost power in the engines and crashed just short of the airfield at 11.45hrs. The crew had landed at Martlesham Heath the night before on return from Ops and were returning home the following morning. All on board were injured to some degree. The pilot, navigator and Flt Sgt Craig recovered sufficiently quickly enough to resume duties and be killed as below.

Vickers Wellington Mk 2, W5632, c/s EP-J took of from RAF Driffield at 20:34 on September 7th 1941 for a raid on Berlin and was lost without trace. The crew were: Pilot-Sgt. F.Richardson (RAAF): Sgt. FG Barrett (RAF); Sgt. WH Anderson (RAF); Sgt. BW Robinson (RAF); Air Gunner-F/Sgt. AD Craig (RAF); Navigator-Sgt. RJ Mountier (RAF).

Flight Sergeant CRAIG had been Mentioned in Dispatches on 1st January 1941
